Gazing into the Abyss: Michael Rawdon's Journal

Links du jour:

Drawn is an illustration, art and cartooning blog.
Theresa Nielsen Hayden wrote a great article about the slush pile and editors' rejections. This article is a year old; I'm a little behind the times here.
Laura K. Krishna is a Plagiarist. A college student does something stupid and gets her name plastered all over the Internet for it. (The author later changed his article to fictionalize her last name.) Of course, the whole thing might all be a hoax. It's the Web - who can tell?

More Signs of Spring

Orange and purple daisies!

I've been kicking myself for a couple of years for not having orange daisies, which I think are really pretty. So now I do!

Debbi also wants to get some white daisies.

The small plants in the lower left are basil and parsley which Deb bought a few weeks ago. They need to be transplanted into the larger pots on the far left. We have some catnip, too, which is already in a larger pot. All three herbs will go live on a shelf on my porch which the cats can't easily reach.

The long planters will eventually have flowers in them.

Oh, the consensus on my white flowers from Tuesday's entry is that they're alyssum. Thanks for the info! (Some more good images of alyssum here.)
