Really Slow Week

It's been quite a slow week at work. As I'm winding down my tenure with WebObjects, and since I'm not very involved in preparations for WWDC which is next week, I've been basically left on my own. So I've been taking care of some outstanding issues, starting to investigate the code base for my new job, doing an interview (for my replacement), and... well, basically it's been slow.

This might sound nice, but it's really pretty dull, and I've spent much of the week feeling tremendously lethargic. It's not a good feeling. Although I can be (ahem) a pretty free-form worker, I do enjoy having structure in my day and goals to be working towards. So this isn't ideal for me.

Well, if nothing else, tomorrow's Friday, and we're going out to a yummy Russian restaurant for my goodbye lunch, which I'm looking forward to (the lunch, I mean).

---

Last night at Subrata's we played another new game, Aladdin's Dragons. It's a wacky "blind-bidding" game, where you try to accumulate treasures to buy artifacts, but with a lot of weird things that can happen along the way. I ended up winning the game by a very small margin. We overall weren't very impressed with the game, as if you lose in the early rounds, it seems very difficult to catch up later. I doubt we'll play it again. But that's fine, since I was just borrowing it from a game-playing cow-orker.

And tonight Debbi came over and we (read: she) made taco salads and we watched the season finale of The West Wing, which was quite good, especially the flashback sequences involving a young Jed Bartlet, although the ending was really frustrating (it's more-or-less a cliffhanger). We had a good time quietly hanging out, and Newton has really warmed up to Debbi. He likes people.

And that's really all the news there is this week. Like I said: A slow week. More this weekend, I hope!
